When Details Make All the Difference
14.07.2026
Electric mobility starts in everyday life.
Not with grand promises for the future, but right where people charge their vehicles every day. This is exactly where the Czech company R‑EVC comes in. For over a decade, the team has been developing smart charging solutions that make electric mobility simpler, more efficient—and, of course, second nature.
What began as a very concrete solution to a personal problem has evolved into a well-thought-out product concept that redefines convenience. And it shows just how much impact lies in the right details.
An idea born from real-world experience—with an impact that continues to this day
The story of R‑EVC begins in 2012: The first electric car in the family’s circle quickly revealed the limitations of the charging infrastructure at the time. Nine hours of charging time was the norm—and a clear obstacle to usage.
The first in-house charging solution cut this time nearly in half. Suddenly, electric mobility became practical. R‑EVC—Richtr Electric Vehicle Connectors—was born from this experience.
What was once a pragmatic idea has now become a holistic system: hardware, software, and the app work together seamlessly—with a clear goal.
“The ideal situation is that the user doesn’t have to worry about charging at all.”
Convenience that adapts—not the other way around
R‑EVC approaches electric mobility from the user’s perspective. Charging should be automatic, cost-efficient, and intelligent—for example, by utilizing surplus solar power or adapting to current electricity prices.
Technologies such as three-phase measurement or LTE connectivity are not ends in themselves, but direct responses to real user feedback.
Innovation here arises through dialogue—within our own team, together with development partners, and by consistently listening.
13 years of development—visible in every detail
Today’s portable wallbox from R‑EVC is the result of continuous refinement. Not a single major leap, but many small, consistent improvements over more than a decade.
Form, function, and operation have been refined generation after generation—resulting in a product that looks elegant yet is robust enough for garages, workshops, freezing temperatures, and summer heat.
It was precisely at this point that one detail played a decisive role: the control panel.
When the First Interaction Builds Trust
The control element is the only physical point of contact between people and technology. It must respond intuitively, function reliably—and inspire trust at first glance.
In our search for a partner to develop a customized solution, we chose RATHGEBER.
“Quality, communication, and service won us over—it was a clear decision.”
Together, every detail was fine-tuned: tactile feel, durability, and visual clarity. Starting with the second product generation, R‑EVC continued to develop the panel in direct collaboration with RATHGEBER—until it met the requirements exactly.
Quality you can feel
Daily use reveals the results of careful development: The membrane control elements respond clearly and reliably—regardless of the environment or frequency of use.
The central control element, in particular, conveys a sense of security. And it is precisely this sense of security that immediately extends to the entire product.
“When the most important control element works perfectly, you automatically trust the entire device.”
Partnership Down to the Last Detail
For R‑EVC, one thing is clear: First impressions count. And they are shaped by the details—in the design, the finish, and the feel when using the product.
RATHGEBER focused precisely on these aspects and helped refine the Wallbox’s appearance and functionality to perfection.
The result is a product that not only impresses technically but is also emotionally resonant.
Looking Ahead
R‑EVC remains focused: Smart wallboxes for everyday use are at the heart of its mission. Currently, the EcoWallbox is being prepared for series production—including labeling solutions from RATHGEBER.
A partnership that thinks ahead. And demonstrates how innovation emerges when technology, design, and user experience are consistently considered together.
