PPWR Effective August 12, 2026: How RATHGEBER Supports Sustainable Packaging

12.08.2026

PPWR Requirements from the EU Packaging Regulation 2025/40 as Part of a Sustainable Packaging Strategy

For us, the PPWR requirements are not just a regulatory issue. They align with our long-standing commitment to designing packaging in a way that conserves resources and keeps materials in circulation for as long as possible. We already rely on recyclable materials for our shipping packaging, provide transparent material information, and promote reuse and high-quality recycling.

As part of our sustainability strategy, we continuously evaluate packaging in terms of material use, reusability, and recyclability. For example, we use paper packaging tape instead of polypropylene and employ packing material made from 100 percent recycled material. In addition, we make sure to reuse undamaged packaging materials multiple times to extend their service life and conserve resources.

We also support the principles of the circular economy when it comes to shipping cartons, pallets, and cushioning materials. Many packaging components are suitable for repeated use in internal material flows or can be returned to the recycling cycle through established recycling channels.

With this approach, we combine sustainable practices with practical applicability in our customers’ day-to-day operations. After all, sustainable packaging is not created solely by the choice of material, but through the intelligent use of resources throughout the entire life cycle. This aligns with our mission to combine responsibility, precision, and partnership.
