Andreas Schrägle, Managing Director of RATHGEBER, accepts prize of the SDG Pioneer Competition 2024 in New York
In September 2024, the UN Global Compact announced twelve new SDG Pioneers - entrepreneurs and employees who are particularly committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by implementing the ten principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, environment, labour and anti-corruption.
One of these pioneers is Andreas Schrägle, Managing Director and owner of RATHGEBER GmbH & Co. KG. The SDG Pioneers programme honours experts who contribute to achieving the SDGs by 2030 with innovative approaches and business models. The 12 award winners come from different regions of the world, including Andreas Schrägle as the only representative from Europe and North America. Sanda Ojiambo, CEO of the UN Global Compact, emphasised the role model function of these pioneers. The UN Global Compact is the world's largest sustainability initiative with over 20,000 participating companies.
For RATHGEBER GmbH & Co. KG, it is a great honour and a matter close to my heart to receive this very special award. The RATHGEBER family, all employees and contributors have been working towards our sustainability goals with great commitment and passion for almost 30 years. We have been a member of the UN Global Compact for over 13 years. This award is a huge success and an even greater pleasure and motivation to continue driving forward our sustainability goals!
