Our consistent step in climate protection: real reduction instead of compensation
09.06.2026We are continuing to develop our approach to climate protection in a targeted manner: with the CCF 2025, we are dispensing with offsetting and focusing entirely on the direct reduction of our emissions.

From target to implementation
With the confirmation of our climate targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), we have a clear, science-based benchmark for our actions.
Building on this, we are aligning ourselves even more clearly: We are focusing entirely on the actual, measurable reduction of emissions.
What is changing in concrete terms
With the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) 2025, we are deliberately refraining from offsetting emissions.
This means:
- In future, our company and our products will no longer be "climate neutral" or "ClimatePartner-certified"
- We are no longer focusing on offsetting, but increasingly on changes within our own sphere of influence
We invest the funds used for this purpose in targeted measures within our own organization and along the entire value chain.
Why we are taking this approach
The requirements for credible climate protection are changing.
For us, one thing is clear: we take responsibility where emissions are generated - not where they are mathematically offset.
For us, this means:
- Less offsetting, more impact
- less certification, more measurable progress
Our focus over the next few years
We have already implemented many measures at our own locations.
The next major lever therefore lies in our value chain - for example in raw materials, purchasing and transportation.
This is where we will be stepping up our efforts in future to systematically reduce emissions further.
Transparency remains crucial
We have been recording our emissions for many years via the corporate carbon footprint and are continuously developing our data basis.
We will continue to make progress visible, review our measures and develop our approach to climate protection step by step.
More information on specific measures will follow shortly.
