MyEsel was developed by Christoph Fraundorfer, an architect from Linz in Austria, together with his colleagues. Their company makes bespoke bicycles tailored for the individual. Unlike other bicycles, whose frames are usually made from aluminium or carbon, MyEsel frames use plastic or wood.

To ensure smooth and speedy processing of servicing and warranty requirements, each of the company’s Esel bicycles is fitted with an aluminium badge and assigned a consecutive serial number. These robust ID plates are made by RATHGEBER. For a bespoke item like the Esel, the company needed high quality and the very best plates, but as a start-up could only place a small order to begin with. For RATHGEBER, that was no problem at all.
