A lot has changed since Pinion's first prototypes came into being – around 60 international bicycle brand names use Pinion gearboxes nowadays, and Pinion as a company has grown to almost 20 employees.

And while the two developers and company founders, Christoph Lermen and Michael Schmitz, now build bicycle gearboxes exclusively, they have stayed true to their roots in the Swabian town of Weissach, at Porsche’s development centre – the standards set by the automotive industry for development, production and quality control still apply even today at Pinion, after all.

Every Pinion gearbox is ‘Made in Germany’ – and that applies to every area of its development: from its conception and design to its manufacture and installation; every step takes place in Germany. The gearboxes are manufactured to the most exacting standards, and this premium result is also expected from Pinion’s suppliers.
